Scratch and dent belts may have some sort of cosmetic issues with the finish. These might include scratches, scars, dents, smears in the color, and superficial cracking in the finish (generally over naturally occurring growth lines in the leather). None of these issues with affect the strength of the belt. Most of them won't be noticeable after one to two weeks of daily use.
